Apartment 28, 2018
In Apartment 28, a self-repressed filmmaker, Robbie, begins to embrace his identity following rejection by the girl of his dreams. Although the vision for this piece was my own, the collaboration from cast and crew alike is what made this piece what it is. Sunce Franicevic, the director of photography, was heavily involved on both aesthetic and narrative levels and was absolutely essential in the translation of my vision to the screen. Joel Sauter, the lead actor, seamlessly brought his character to life beyond any expectations. Having never written or directed before in this capacity, Apartment 28 was a colossal challenge for me, but it was always grounded in the need to express my subjective experience in embracing identity.
