Nelli Astvatsatrian was born in Yerevan, Armenia in 1997. Her interest revolves around the trans-generational transmission of memory and history which easily manifests itself into physical things, becoming symbols of constructed identity. Her attempt to give material presence to memory is centered around the home, or rather, as an immigrant part of the Armenian-American diaspora, the lack thereof.
