A Temporal Pool, 2020.
I am expressing temporality as a pool, rather than a linear timeline. Memories, and histories constantly flowing and replenishing. Some memories exist in the shallows, others far deeper. I can dip, dive, or jump in anywhere and explore time. My pool is filled with images that represent all the papers I’ve written during my time at the University of California, Berkeley. It is brimming with writing and research papers, ranging from 1 page to more than 30 pages. Papers that have expanded my relationship to time by filling my pool with new memories. New memories of 752 BCE, 1839, 1593, or 1964, 2020, or 1200 that I can jump into at my leisure or by occasion.
