Fernanda Fisher has been involved in the arts throughout her life. She grew up in NYC with both her father, Leonard Gordon, a cardiologist and her mother, Rita Moreno, an actress. Fisher will talk about Puerto Rico, her mother’s rise to stardom, and her own creative career. She attended Brearley School and danced under George Balanchine at the School of American Ballet. After moving to Los Angeles in her teens, she attended Westlake School and then Tufts University(B.A. in Drama) and USC (M.F.A. In Drama). She then worked extensively in theater and TV and was also a backup singer/dancer in her mother’s night club act for many years. In the 90s she married David Fisher, settled in the Bay Area, and had two children while still performing when there was an opportunity. Meanwhile, in 2001, while she was a stay-at-home mom, she attended CCA and then founded her own jewelry design business, Nandiz Designs. She continues to create beautiful pieces which are featured in many stores nationwide and to dance and act locally. She is very fortunate to have often traveled with her mother, and they have had many incredible experiences together, including attending the most recent Academy Awards and visiting the Obama White House for the Kennedy Center Honors.
