Nadia Amoroso's Studio is dedicated to design visualization excellence. Each team member is an expert in various digital and hand graphic visual representation skills to powerfully and effectively design ideas and data visualization. Nadia Amoroso has dedicated years of research on topics related to creative mapping, visual representation in landscape architecture, and GeoDesign to ensure high quality work. Her subject matter expertise is carried through in a number of design consultancy suites, including workshops and speaking engagements to professional and academic groups. Nadia Amoroso is recognized for her vision in creative cartography and visual communication in urban design and landscape architecture, which is extensively published. Her work is featured in design and technology blogs including The Next Web, Fast Company, Killer Startups, The University of Toronto Magazine, and IT Business. She currently provides cartography design consultation and professional illustrations as part of her studio practice. ABOUT HER WORK Heritage Park Project Nadia Amoroso teaches at the University of Guelph, Department of Landscape Architecture. She teaches graduate and undergraduate studios and specializes in visual representation. She holds and has held a number of international academic and administrative positions including Lawrence Halprin Fellow at Cornell University, the Garvan Chair Visiting Professor, and Associate Dean. She has a PhD from the Bartlett School of Architecture and degrees in Landscape Architecture and Urban Design from the University of Toronto. She has written a number of books on topics about creative mapping and visual representation and design including, The Exposed City: Mapping the Urban Invisibles, Representing Landscapes: A Visual Collection of Landscape Architectural Drawings, and Digital Landscape Architecture Now. Nadia participates on a number of design juries. Her research on mapping urban phenomena and design work are published in a number of journals including Canadian Architect, Archis, Landscape Architecture Magazine, Fast Company. She often lectures at various universities and design institutions including Harvard University, The University of Toronto, Cornell University, Anhalt University, at Google Inc., and at Digifest Toronto. Turning her passion of creative mapping and beautiful visual representation, Nadia founded, DataAppeal, a creative GIS company dedicated to helping organizations increase the use and sharing of information. Her company developed an easy to use and visually engaging GIS (geographic information system) and mapping application that extended the reach of GIS to everyone, without any training. The application allowed users to turn geo-referenced data into beautifully designed 3D data-maps and datascapes onto the digital globe, using an intuitive work flow. The application won a number of Technology StartUp awards and was featured in several technology and design blogs.
