TONIGHT: Young Musicians Choral Orchestra - Jazz Big Band Young Musicians Choral Orchestra The Young Musician Choral Orchestra’s Jazz Band is one of the Bay Area’s leading and most exciting youth jazz groups. Conducted by Geechi Taylor, they have already performed alongside international jazz superstars Herlin Riley, Bob Hurst and Hubert Laws, world-renowned mezzo-soprano Frederica Von Stade, top jazz pianist Patrice Rushen and late legendary drummer, Ndugu Chancler. Get ready to tap your feet and swing to the beat as the 20-piece YMCO Jazz Band takes over the Redwood Grove and your heart on a night you won’t want to miss. About YMCO Founded in 1968 as a summer outreach program, Young Musicians Choral Orchestra has transformed the lives of over 3,000 Bay Area Youth. Under the leadership of Executive Director Daisy Newman, who took the helm in 2003, the program erupted from a modest youth music program into a national model, providing a rigorous and robust combination of musical training, academic reinforcement, and personal development for low-income, underprivileged children. *** REDWOOD GROVE CONCERT INFORMATION AND TICKET POLICIES Shows will sell-out – buy online in advance. (No surcharge!) Redwood Grove Gate opens at 5pm. Ticket includes admission to the main Botanical Garden collections before it closes at 5:00pm. (a $12/adult value!) Parking in the attached UC campus parking lot ($1/hr) is limited and not guaranteed – carpooling is highly encouraged. All tickets are by registration “will call" list. Seating is general admission amphitheater. Please contact us in advance if you will need a wheelchair accessible spot. Snacks and drinks available; picnics welcome Warm clothes recommended. CANCELLATION POLICY All concert ticket sales are final and non-refundable. The value is not transferable to another concert or program. In the event you can cannot attend, another person may use your registration spots using your name. (Please let us know if your tickets will go unused.)
