In addition to presenting a brief overview of his work, Artist Shimon Attie will focus in this presentation on his recent project Night Watch. The Installation was presented to the public and circulated in San Francisco Bay in September of this year. This presentation followed its initial debut in the waterways around New York City in 2018. Attie will present still and moving images from the project, and will discuss and reflect on its impact and reception in the San Francisco Bay Area, and compare and contrast that with the artwork’s reception in New York City.

Shimon Attie is a multimedia artist, whose work comprises photographs, video and multimedia installations, new media and works on paper. Concerned with questions and themes surrounding memory, place, and identity, Attie’s early work reanimates the lost history of public spaces through site-specific projects, while his recent work continues to investigate the past alongside the important socio-political issues of our time. http://shimonattie.net/
