Tearrarium, 2017.
Tearrarium is a tear-activated therapy garden that uses tear sensing technology to transform your tears into new life. By putting on the pair of glasses and having yourself a good cry, your tears will activate an internal irrigation system to water and grow your plants. Tearrarium allows for a restorative experience by exposing users to nature’s healing powers while encouraging them to tend to their own emotional garden. As a performative piece, our design combines wearable technology and basic principles of ecotherapy to formulate a critique on the social stigma associated with mental health and crying through a critical lens.
