Bonafide, 2018.

We do not match make; people find their own dates, and then they can choose to do our box/activity to slow down and humanize the dating process. This will allow the two people to get to know each other better. In this era of technology, dating can be fast-paced and shallow. People can swipe through hundreds of individuals and have shallow conversations. It’s difficult to make that first connection and truly get to know someone. We aim to facilitate that first connection and help people break the ice after they have matched. The process involves two people matching online or finding each other in real life. First, they decide to buy a set of Bonafide boxes to get to know each other better, next they take a week to fill out the boxes to represent their lives (through answering insight questions and drawing prompts, as well as explaining their memories), then they get together and discuss the contents of the box.

Bonafide Team
Design |
The Bonafide team is a group of User Experience Designers that come from varying design and technical backgrounds. This group was the final group for the class User Experience Design, and our group’s focus was on dating. They found that facilitating a relationship is completely varied, and individuals often tend to use varied platforms. However, a key takeaway they were able to build upon was that when individuals have already met another a viable partner or even a potential friend, there is often an initial sense of awkwardness that prevents true meaningful conversations from the get-go. Thus, they aimed to work in this space to help create meaningful first conversations.
