About Design Field Notes: Each informal talk in this pop-up series brings a design practitioner to a Jacobs Hall teaching studio to share ideas, projects, and practices. About this talk: Jess Hobbs is a Bay Area public artist, designer, and social entrepreneur who skillfully navigates the complex world of collaboration to produce projects of great scope, originality, and social importance. She is a founder of Flux Foundation and a co-founder at All Power Labs. She is also one of the Makers of Maker Faire. Jess and her projects have been covered in The New York Times, Wired Magazine, LA Times, Boing Boing, Make Magazine, Fast Company, and the Colbert Report. She has spoken at SXSW, TED, TEDx, the Exploratorium, the San Francisco Art Institute, and the American Association of Museums Conference.
