Fri Apr 23, 2021 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM
Zoom
For Spring 2021, we will be continuing our theme, For Whom? By Whom? Designs for Belonging, first launched in the Spring of 2019. This series investigates exclusions in design and invites guests to discuss the ways their work examines ideas around inclusivity. Each guest will be joining us virtually through Zoom’s Webinar feature, with audience questions taken at the end of each lecture. Registration is required for the link to join. Ahmed Ansari is an Industry Assistant Professor at NYU's Integrated Digital Media program in the department of Technology, Culture, & Society. His research intersects between critical design studies and postcolonial and de-colonial theory; and pre-colonial philosophy and design history/technology in the Indian subcontinent. Ansari is a founding member of the Decolonising Design Platform, as well as the Architecture Design Research Lab in Karachi, where he has helped design the curricula for design programs at the Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture at the University in Karachi.
