Axis Points is a performance and installation piece staging conversations of materials as animate beings in a "hosted" space. As a part of the performance, Rivera Pansa drafted and presented a conglomerated lecture with text appropriated from idiosyncratic poetry, queer abstraction catalogs, gender and sexuality academic journals, and Youtube video transcript. The installation space includes objects collected from the street, borrowed mementos, yard sale items, thrifted goods, and discrete sculptures. Axis Points presents the authorship of objects with embedded histories and as speakers of their own mythology. Rivera Pansa objectifies within the installation bridging the gray areas between audience participation, material agency, and artist manipulation. Axis Points addresses the impermanence of identity, canons, and the fixed through peripheral voices.
