REDWOOD GROVE SUMMER CONCERT SERIES! Every Thursday + special Tuesdays, June through August Enjoy a magical music experience this summer under towering redwoods in the Berkeley hills. TONIGHT: Extraordinary folk blues + Americana Charlie Parr “Parr is a folk artist for the new American Dust Bowl, a resonator-ready troubadour armed with a well-worn satchel of troubled tales that cut to the heart of a nation mired in fear and in dire need of a roots-music revival.” — Acoustic Guitar Fans who have been following Charlie Parr, the Duluth, MN based virtuoso, through his previous 13 full-length albums and decades of nonstop touring already know that the Duluth-based songwriter has a way of carving a path straight to the gut. On his newest record, Dog, however, he seems to be digging deeper and hitting those nerves quicker than ever before. Coming out of a country-blues tradition that is full of heartbreak and hard knocks, Dog is a heartfelt wander-through-an-alley of an album. Paper Wings “…an innovative and timeless sound…” -Bluegrass Unlimited Americana folk duo, Paper Wings captivates their listeners with a sound that is delicate, powerful, and refreshingly intimate. The stunning vocal harmonies of Emily Mann and Wilhelmina Frankzerda soar over a rotating cast of banjo, guitar, and fiddles. The two blossoming songwriters have a unique way of weaving traditional Appalachian music in to their thoughtfully crafted songs leaving you feeling nostalgic and exhilarated. Their self-titled debut album was released in February 2017 and they are planning to release their second album in the spring of 2019. Paper Wings is a genuine intertwining of two souls you won’t soon forget. *** REDWOOD GROVE CONCERT INFORMATION AND TICKET POLICIES Shows will sell-out – buy online in advance. (No surcharge!)
