DESIGN QUEST: BUILD THE FUTURE
Volunteer at Design Quest, a summer exhibit that inspires kids to come up with their own ideas, build prototypes, and then test their designs to see if they can rise to the challenge. Such a great experience, volunteering here in Berkeley at Design Quest. It's incredibly rewarding to see the impact this exhibit makes on the lives of these young, impressionable children. I will definitely be doing this again this coming summer.
Exhibits:
FLY HIGH
Engineers use their knowledge of air to do things like generate energy from wind, land safely with a parachute, fly planes, make sports balls go farther, stabilize helicopters, and much more.
BUILD A BRIDGE
Today's bridges are built both to withstand the forces of nature and to address the challenges of modern transportation. Some span distances over 100 miles and heights over 1,000 feet.
MAKE STATION
Creativity combined with engineering helps us prepare for the future by developing inventions that enable us to both survive and thrive in environments like space, the deep ocean, and our ever-changing Earth.
