"Scenes from a Multiplex" is a collection of memoirs from a former movie theater usher. Through a series of workplace vignettes, the essay captures the spirit of an eclectic local cinema while offering reflections on the moviegoing experience amid broader changes in the film industry.

Grace Orriss graduated from UC Berkeley in 2021 with a bachelor of arts in English and a minor in creative writing. Grace's time at Berkeley honed her interest in pop culture and its intersection with broader social phenomena, a topic that she's explored in her writing. During her time in college, she worked at The Daily Californian as a writer and editor for the Arts & Entertainment section; her work has also appeared in POPSUGAR and KQED Arts & Culture. Grace currently works as an Editorial Assistant at Insight Editions.
